The European standards are transposed into national legislation by each Member State individually. This means that a legal framework is established that incorporates the requirements of the GPSR and EN 1176 series of standards. There is no legislation in Europe that literally adopts the EN 1176 series of standards, which means that there is still a choice as to whether or not to work in full compliance with the standard.
Below you will find references to the national legislation of a number of countries. You will also notice that certain European countries do not have legislation for playgrounds or playground equipment, which means that the EN1176 and EN1177 standards are simply used.
